Honyaku Center Inc. is pleased to announce participation in the 5th Oxfam Trailwalker Japan, to be held from May 13th to 15th, 2011. As a corporation that believes in promoting international economic and cultural exchange, Honyaku Center Inc. is proud to take part in this world renowned event and help contribute to both international and local communities.
About Oxfam Trailwalker
Oxfam Trailwalker Japan is a charity fundraising event in which teams of 4 set out to complete a 100km course over challenging mountainous terrain within a 48 hour time limit. Each team must start together, stick together, and go through each check point and cross the finish line together. Over the past 20 years, Oxfam Trailwalker has become a major international fundraising event held in countries all over the world. In 2010 Trailwalker was held in 11 countries: Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Japan, Great Britain, Ireland, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Ireland, and Canada. India and Spain will host Trailwalker events in 2011.
Trailwalker Japan began in 2007, and in 2010 was participated in by 174 teams and raised over 52 million yen for Oxfam charities. Oxfam is a development, relief, and campaigning organization working in 99 countries to find lasting solutions to poverty and injustice. Funds raised through Trailwalker support Oxfam programs around the world. A portion of funds is also used to support local communities hosting the event.
